Running Graph

My Running Graph

Over the last few years we have been doing 2.6 K every fine morning. Today we did the last run of the year. I'm kinda sad to see it go. It takes real mental grit to do this. My personal best is 11.17! I would have run to Darfield if I added up all the runs I've done!

William Pike Challenge #5: Skiing at Temple Basin!

I finally learnt how to turn on a snowboard. I was the only one on a snowboard (because I own one). I also mastered the Nutcracker! Jai, Alex, Tania and I were the only people to go up temple slope. Lots of crashes. I crashed into Jai coming down the mountain once. Oops. Overall, great trip.

Teachers on Strike

Teachers went on strike on Wednesday 15th of August 2018 because they wanted a pay rise and more learning equipment. If this happens again, it will affect parents, it might cost them money and leave. The government should give them what they want. Next time, teachers should go to Parliament and then the numbers will be to great and the government will have to oblige.

Chess Tournament

Tuesday 2nd August 2018:

The opponents Queen has been taken. A checkmate is coming. Two moves. One. "Checkmate" I say. I have just beaten the top-ranked player. "Good Game" We shake hands.

6 out of 7 games I have won. Tied with the leader Griffin McCann. But he had higher ranking so he won. :( But on the bright side were are going to Auckland (Jai, Miller, Konnah and I). It was great.

William Pike Challenge #1: Cave Stream

The Cold Adrenaline Rush hit Me as fast as a Bullet Train. Darkness like nothing I had ever experienced before. Cave Stream is only about 600M but takes around 1-2 hours. You can walk 600M in about 6-7 minutes.

The water of Cave Stream comes from a snow melt in the Mountains, so it's obviously cold. There are many side caves that you can explore which either come to a ledge overlooking the Cave or a dead end. Going upstream is much easier than going downstream because you slip less, well, apart from a few nasty, fast running parts.

With only a torch each to light the way we were making our way toward the metal rung ladder at the end. Mr S-W told a story as we experienced real darkness. If you put your hand over your eyes you wouldn't even notice the difference.

My favourite part was when I climbed up to my personal favourite side Cave which over looked part of the eroded passage way.

It really is a great challenge to kick off the year.
